It all started with a breakup...

This whole thing started from a breakup.

In 2019 I bought a resin starter kit just to keep myself busy after the heartbreak. Then COVID hit and I had way too much time on my hands… so I got really good at it.

At the time I was working full time as a fashion designer for brands like Cotton On and Ghanda. Went to uni for it, did the whole thing. But on weekends I was at markets selling resin pieces. Back then, I was known as Jaded Painted.

Then I realised I was making more in two days at markets than I was all week at my 9–5.

So I quit the next day. No backup plan, just went all in.

What I Actually Do

I make every board by hand, start to finish.

I cut and shape the timber myself, which is why my shapes are a bit different. That came from being self-taught on the tools and just figuring it out as I went.

Then comes the resin. My favourite part.

It took about a year to really nail the wave effect. Now it’s second nature, but getting there was a lot of trial, error, and fixing mistakes.

Everything is smooth, clean, and actually usable. No dust, no weird dips, no sand or shells stuck in it. It’s made to be used, not just sit there and look pretty.

Why People Love Them

Honestly, the quality.

I hear it all the time at markets

“That’s the best resin I’ve seen”
"Can I actually cut on this?”
“I’ve always wanted one of these”

"Wait, you engrave thee for free?!"

"That looks just like the ocean!"

And yes, you can use it. Chop on the back, serve on the front, then leave it out because it looks good anyway.

Who Are They For?

Everyone.

I’ve got 20 year olds buying their first one, and grey nomads travelling around picking one up. But most of the time they’re gifts.

Weddings, housewarmings, birthdays, Mother’s Day, Christmas.

Which is where the engraving comes in.

The Engraving

Every board comes with free personalised engraving.

Names, dates, initials, little messages. A funny saying you share between friends. A longer heart felt message. A nickname. Something cheeky, we've seen it all!

Nothing crazy, just something that makes it feel like it was actually thought about.

And it makes a big difference.

Behind The Scenes

There’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes.

So much sanding. Like… so much.

Packing orders, admin, finances, markets, content. I’m either working 24/7 or not at all.

The business side can be hard, especially trying to predict sales and stay on top of everything.

But I genuinely love what I do.

I get to be creative every day and build something that’s mine.

Why I Care So Much

I’m a bit wired for perfection. If I know it can be better, I’ll fix it. And I think that shows in the work.

Also, I back small businesses hard. All my timber, resin and materials are sourced from Aussie businesses where I can.

Because people buy from people. Always.

The Personal Part

I’m originally from Geelong, moved to the Sunshine Coast a couple years ago chasing better weather, better markets and a better lifestyle.

Most mornings start with an iced choc and a walk with my dog Ruby, who is absolutely the star of the show at markets (you might catch her sitting on the counter waiting for pats).

I also go camping and travelling on my own a lot, which people seem to find surprising.

And honestly… shoutout to my ex for the heartbreak that started all this. Couldn’t have planned it better.
