It was introduced to Australia back in the 1800s and spread like crazy through northern NSW and southeast QLD. These days it’s considered an invasive species, so using it means we’re giving that timber a second life instead of letting grow wild.
Every board is cut from one solid piece of Camphor Laurel. No joins, no glue-ups. It’s naturally antibacterial, smells amazing when you’re working with it, and the grain is always a completely different.
Which means no two boards will ever be the same. Want a lighter or darker grain? Add it to your order notes!

The Boards
Every board starts the same way — a raw slab of Camphor Laurel and a bit of workshop chaos.
We cut and shape it by hand, route the edges so the resin knows where to flow, then sand it smooth before the waves go down. It’s a bit of prep, a bit of patience, and a lot of sawdust… but it’s what makes the resin pour clean and the final board look so damn good.
The Resin
From mixing the two liquids together to finishing with the perfect waves, resin art is no joke.
It might look easy from the outside, but things like humidity, temperature, dust and curing time all play a big role in how the waves form. Getting them just right takes patience and a lot of practice.

For your everyday chopping, flip the board over and use the full timber side for your food prep. We do not reccomended cutting on the resin, it is ideal for incidental food contact. Place any cheeses on the timber part of the the resin side of the board.

Yes please! We use a grape seed oil, or any other mineral oil or beeswax is great too. Oil once a month if using regularly, or when the timber feels dry.
Avoid veggie oil and olive oil as these go rancid long term.

Absolutely! From the timber grain, and the rolling resin waves, every single board is truely unique.

Honestly? Depends on what my week looks like. Generally I can do a batch of boards including the timber word each week, sometimes two batches if I'm feeling productive.

Warm hand wash only. We use the soft dish brushes, not the wire or scourer type. Do not put in the dishwasher. Do not soak.

We only use Camphor Laurel timber, which is an invasive species but also has incredible naturally antibacterial properties and is termite resistant. We use a single piece of timber, no glue or joins. This is sourced locally to us and is kiln dried to ensure the timber will not warp.

We are based in Sunshine Coast Australia, and usually only ship within Australia. We have JUST added New Zealand. We are hoping to have international shipping available soon!

We use a laser for all of our engraving. I input your words and chosen fonts into the lasers app, and then it sends via bluetooth, and burns out precisely. Our engraving options is free, and we can also engrave handwritten notes or drawings. You can upload this before you add to cart.
