Epoxy Resin. This is a two part liquid system, one being a hardener that in the drying process turns the resin into its solid glass like form.
-
Each piece is sealed and finished for indoor display. Resin naturally yellows over time so we don't recommend hanging in full direct sunlight all day.
-
Yes. The texture, depth and movement in the resin happen during the pour itself, so no two pieces ever set exactly the same.
-
Honestly? Weeks to months. There are layers upon layers built on the foam base to create the right height, textures and shaping of the way. The silicone mould is the fast part, taking a day. Pouring the resin is a process, and needs to be done in small layers, day by day to ensure the resin sets correctly and allows all air bubbles to escape.
-
The transparency in the resin reacts to light the same way real water does. The ripples and depth you see will shift slightly throughout the day, and from different angles. Just like real moving water.
-
Wipe with a soft, dry or damp cloth. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight and harsh chemicals to keep the resin clear and the colours true.
-
Yes, they come framed in a deep set, oak frame. Each piece comes with a timber backing attached to the back of the piece allowing it to be drilled into a frame without affecting the resin itself. The pieces are heavy, and all our framing will come with D-rings and wire, or a cleat. We recommend hanging these directly into a framing stud.
